The Pentagon called the attack on Iran the "culmination" of 15 years of preparation.

Operation Midnight Hammer, conducted in Iran, was the "culmination" of 15 years of preparation. This was stated on June 26 by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, Dan Kane, quoted by the BBC television channel.
As Kane pointed out, the weapons used for the attacks were designed and delivered to successfully attack the Fordo nuclear facility. As a result of the operation, two ventilation shafts were hit, which the Iranian workers of the facility were trying to fill with concrete in order to prevent an impact.
"At both attacked mines, the concrete covers were destroyed by the first impact, which allowed five more bombs to penetrate each of them, descend into the main complex and explode in space," said the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the American army.
On the same day, Kane announced that the United States had deployed additional batteries of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) in order to protect the American military in the Middle East. It is specified that they were taken to the area of responsibility of the US Central Command.
