There have been 326 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.


Over the past day, 326 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 29 people were killed and 401 injured. Two of the dead were pedestrians, the remaining 27 were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on June 26 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
19 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which there were no fatalities, and 22 more road users, including two children, needed medical help. 12 bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by drivers of other vehicles.
In the Moscow Region, in the evening, on 62 km of the federal highway M-12 Vostok, a 64-year-old truck driver with a semi-trailer crashed into an SUV parked in the far right lane, which had previously stopped due to a breakdown, after which the truck overturned on the roadway and caught fire. There were no injuries as a result of the accident. Due to a car accident, traffic on this section of the road towards Moscow was temporarily stopped for several hours, and a detour was organized. Previously, the cause of the accident was that the truck driver was distracted from driving.
As a result of 66 accidents, 28 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 38 outside their area of operation, 76 pedestrians were injured of varying severity. Among the injured were 14 underage pedestrians, nine of whom were injured when crossing the roadway at designated locations.
46 accidents involving minors were also registered, as a result of which 52 young road users were injured, including 17 passengers, four cyclists and 14 motor transport drivers under the age of 16. One teenager driving a pit bike without a helmet was killed.
So, in the Perm Region, on a regional highway during the daytime, a 14-year-old schoolboy lost control of a motor vehicle and drove into the oncoming lane in a prohibited place, where he collided with a truck. The young pit bike driver died. Due to his age, he had not previously been issued a driver's license, and his mother had given him a vehicle belonging to the sports equipment category two weeks ago.
The State Traffic Inspectorate called on parents to strictly monitor and stop attempts by children and teenagers to get behind the wheel of a motor vehicle on their own without rights and driving skills. The department recommended refraining from purchasing gifts for children that are dangerous to their lives and health. In five months of 2025, ten child motor transport drivers died in Russia, and another 550 were injured in various degrees of severity, the traffic police said.
"Mopeds and motorcycles on public roads can be driven no earlier than the age of 16. Cross—country motorcycles, sports equipment, and pitbikes should be used only on specialized tracks and only for sporting purposes, including for young athletes. On ordinary roads and in populated areas, movement with their help is strictly prohibited," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
On June 16, it was reported that the number of people killed in road accidents in Russia has decreased with an increase in the number of accidents. So, from January to May 2025, 44.4 thousand deaths occurred in Russia. Accidents with deaths or injuries, which is 0.7% more than in the same period last year. The number of dead in them amounted to 4.6 thousand people (-1.9%), and the wounded — 55.7 thousand people (+0.5%).
