A 70-year-old pensioner was arrested in Moscow for abusing a five-year-old girl in 1977. This was reported by a source of Izvestia on June 26.

"In April 1977, at that time, a 22-year-old man seduced a girl," the source said.

It is specified that then law enforcement officers opened a criminal case on sexual violence against a minor. In 1978, the investigation was suspended because it was not possible to identify the culprit.

In May of this year, law enforcement agencies identified the attacker.

Earlier, on May 16, a court in Omsk sentenced a 59-year-old man who beat and raped an unknown 17-year-old girl on September 30, 2000. After the crime, the attacker left the region and was wanted, but in September 2024 he was arrested and taken into custody.
