Novorossiysk resident sentenced to 14 years in prison for treason


Novorossiysk resident Mikhail Komkov was sentenced to 14 years in prison in a high-security penal colony for high treason and collecting data for the needs of Ukraine. This was announced on June 26 by the press service of the Southern District Military Court.
According to the investigation, on March 15, 2024, the man left a comment under a publication about the Ukrainian organization Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK), which was recognized as a terrorist and banned in the territory of the Russian Federation, which justified its activities.
After that, the defendant provided support to the Ukrainian special services, and also collected information about military units in Novorossiysk and recorded videos for further sending via messenger to Ukraine.
In addition, the accused reported on the location of the ships of the Border Directorate of the FSB of the Russian Federation and the data of the marine equipment of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy in the city.
It is noted that the verdict was passed in the framework of criminal cases provided for in Articles 275 and Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
On June 19, it was reported that the court sentenced Viktor Mosienko, a director and actor from Novosibirsk, to 17 years in prison for high treason and attempted sabotage on a railway in the Belgorod region.
