Lavrov expressed gratitude to Laos for its balanced position on Ukraine

Russia is grateful to Laos for its balanced position on the conflict in Ukraine, as well as for its assistance in resolving humanitarian issues. This was stated on June 26 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during a meeting with his Laotian counterpart Thongsavan Phomvihan.

"We are grateful to our Lao friends for an objective, balanced line on the entire range of issues related to the Ukrainian crisis, and we are grateful for their help in resolving humanitarian issues, including the rehabilitation of our soldiers in the Lao People's Democratic Republic," he said.

Lavrov also expressed gratitude to Laos for understanding the need to eliminate the root causes of the Ukrainian conflict, which will help to resolve this situation reliably.

According to the minister, in this case, Ukraine will not pose a threat to human rights, the security of the Russian Federation and any other state.

On May 28, Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov met with Lao President Thonglong Sisulit as part of the visit of the Russian delegation to Vientiane. Krasnov expressed gratitude for the personal meeting and emphasized the strategic nature of the relations between the two states.
