In Surgut, Alexey Dvornikov, director of the Property Relations Department of the City Hall, and Vitaly Sharov, former deputy head of the city, were detained as part of the investigation. This was announced on June 26 by a source of Izvestia.

According to the source, a criminal case against them under Part 8 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code ("Commercial bribery") was initiated in the fall of 2024.

"The city's service organizations paid them to have their contracts extended and not monitored," the source explained.

The defendants, the source added, are related to the former mayor of Surgut, Andrei Filatov, who was detained in November 2024 on suspicion of the same crime. He served as mayor of the city from February 27, 2021 to April 25, 2024. It was reported that Filatov left the position at his own request and explained the decision with personal motives.

On June 17, the deputy head of the regional department of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) was detained in the Udmurt Republic on suspicion of accepting a particularly large bribe. It was noted that the defendant received a bribe in the form of a car worth more than 2.7 million rubles from the head of a group of companies that has contractual relations with a number of correctional institutions of the republic.
