Tourist flow to St. Petersburg has increased by 12% since the beginning of the year

The flow of tourists to St. Petersburg has exceeded 5 million rubles since the beginning of the current 2025, which is 10-12% more than in the same period a year earlier. This was announced on Thursday, June 26, according to the press service of the city Committee for Tourism Development.

On the May holidays alone, 950 thousand people visited the Northern Capital, which is 13% higher than in 2024. The contribution of tourists to the urban economy amounted to more than 35 billion rubles.

Most often, guests from China, Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and India come to the city on the Neva. Among the CIS countries, most travelers come from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that the portrait of the Russian tourist began to change. Increasingly, travelers want not just to see something, but to become a direct participant in the events: to milk a goat or get behind the wheel of an SUV. Wellness and sports programs have been actively gaining popularity for several years now.
