A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. It is noted that the Russian Armed Forces liberated the settlements of Novosergeyevka and Shevchenko in the DPR, and units of the "Southern" group of forces occupied more advantageous lines and positions.

"The enemy lost up to 170 military personnel, two armored combat vehicles, seven vehicles and five field artillery pieces, including a 155 mm M114 howitzer made in the United States," the Russian Defense Ministry said.

In addition, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces motorized infantry brigade and two air defense brigades were defeated in the Kharkiv area in the areas of the settlements of Udy, Ivashki and Volchansk in the Kharkiv region.

"Operational-tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of groups of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation defeated radar stations of air defense, production workshops, places of assembly and storage of unmanned aerial vehicles, ammunition depots, as well as temporary locations of armed formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and foreign mercenaries in 152 districts." — the Ministry of Defense added.

Since the beginning of the special military operation, 663 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 65,677 unmanned aerial vehicles, 612 anti-aircraft missile systems, 24,050 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,572 multiple rocket launchers, 26,646 field artillery and mortars, 37,320 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
