Almost 400 cases of self-seizure of forest plots were identified in the Moscow region

In the Moscow region, 371 cases of unauthorized occupation of forest plots have been discovered since the beginning of the current 2025. This was announced on Thursday, June 26, according to the press service of the regional forestry Committee.

The violations were discovered by forest guards during patrolling the lands of the state forest fund along the established routes. Most cases of self-seizure were recorded in the Volokolamsk (110), Podolsk (63), Istra (40) and Vinogradovsky (18) forestry districts.

As a result of the raids, inspectors drew up 396 protocols on administrative offenses, including against individuals, the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya writes.

As explained in the department, some Russians want to increase the area of their suburban areas and "attach" to them the areas of the nearby forest. The fine for citizens is up to 50 thousand rubles. They will also have to compensate for the damage caused to the forests.

Earlier in June, it was reported that since the beginning of 2025, more than 2 thousand advertising banners, posters and banners in forests have been dismantled in the Moscow region. The objects were placed in nature illegally.
