Law enforcement agencies interrupted a shamanic ritual in the Priozersky district of the Leningrad region and dug up two people buried alive. This was announced on June 26 by a source of Izvestia.

According to the source, about 15 people took part in the ceremony, each of them paid the "shaman" from 6 to 9 thousand rubles. It is specified that during the event, two participants were "wrapped in rags and buried in graves."

According to preliminary information, they were not injured. It is noted that two organizers of the ceremony, a man and a woman, were detained. Currently, the issue of initiating a criminal case under Article 239 "Creation of a non-profit organization that encroaches on the personality and rights of citizens" is being considered, and the penalty for it is up to 7 years in prison.

On April 14, it was reported that in Kamchatka, foreign citizens created a place for religious ceremonies without appropriate permits, which operated illegally. The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has initiated an investigation into possible illegal actions.
