- Neil Kaplan's book on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will be released in July in Russian.

Izvestia has published an exclusive fragment of the book "The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: Irreconcilable Versions of History" by Neil Kaplan, a lecturer at Vanier College in Canada and a researcher of the long-term struggle between Israelis and Palestinians. The first edition of the book was published in 2009, followed 10 years later by a second, expanded edition. In July 2025, Alpina Non-Fiction publishing house will publish this work in Russian for the first time.
"A parallel reading of Palestinian and Jewish history not only makes it possible to feel the tragedy of the Holocaust and what later happened to the Palestinians, but also shows how, during the joint existence of Israelis and Palestinians since 1948, one nation, the Palestinians, bore a disproportionately large burden of pain and loss," Kaplan writes.
In the course of the research, the author turned to the points of view of various researchers of the history of Middle Eastern states. Kaplan not only tried to find the reasons for the incompleteness of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict to this day, but also explained why this confrontation may never be fully resolved.
