- NBC reported on the ICE detention of only 6% of those convicted of murdering illegal immigrants

The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), despite promising to expel the "worst of the worst" from the country, detained only 6% of the thousands of illegal immigrants convicted of murder. This was announced by NBC on Wednesday, June 25.
"After six months of aggressive immigration controls and promises to focus on deporting criminals who have committed violent crimes, the administration of [US President Donald] Trump was arrested and detained by only a small part of them," the article says.
According to the TV channel, of the 13,000 immigrants who committed murder, which ICE reported to Congress in September, in the period from October 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025, they managed to detain only 752 people.
Among the 15.8 thousand convicted sex offenders, immigration control managed to detect just over 1.6 thousand people, which is only 11% of their total number.
On June 14, large-scale rallies against President Trump's migration policy began in the American city of Philadelphia. On the same day, the Virginia state police detained a man who purposefully crashed into a crowd of protesters opposed to the actions of the American leader. At least one person was injured in the incident.
Mass protests in California began after a police raid to identify illegal migrants, during which 45 people were detained. On June 8, Trump ordered the National Guard to be sent to the state to stop the riots, which was condemned by the governors of 22 states, regarding it as an "abuse of power."
