The doctor named the factors influencing human growth

There are many factors that affect human growth, such as genetics, hormones, nutrition, and even lifestyle. About how these components shape our growth, June 26, Gazeta.Ru" was told by Vyacheslav Artishchev, a doctor, an assistant at the Department of Morphology at Pirogov University.
According to the doctor, only 60-80% are affected by genes on human growth. One of the main factors is the hormones that the human body produces.
"The main "stimulator" is growth hormone (somatotropin), which is produced by the pituitary gland. It causes bones and cartilage to elongate, especially in childhood and adolescence. Thyroid hormones (thyroid gland) and sex hormones (testosterone and estrogens) are also important. They accelerate growth at puberty, but then they "close" the growth zones in the bones, stopping it," said Artishchev.
Nutrition is an important factor. A lack of proteins, vitamins, and minerals can slow down the human growth process.
"The key elements that affect growth are protein (necessary for tissue synthesis), calcium and vitamin D (strengthen bones), zinc and iron (affect hormone production)," the doctor added.
He recommends paying attention to sleep and exercise.
"During movement, the production of growth hormone is stimulated. And deep sleep is the peak of its secretion: children who sleep little often lag behind in growth," the expert explained.
Earlier, on June 16, internist, preventologist and expert on genetic tests Viktor Lishin warned about the dangers of chronic sleep deprivation for the brain. Constant lack of sleep leads to a decrease in the volume of key areas of the brain responsible for memory, attention, and spatial orientation.
