The Msta-B crew destroyed the fortified positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Sumy region

A combat crew of 152 mm towed guns 2A65 "Msta-B" gunners of the Tula Airborne Troops (Airborne Forces) destroyed fortified positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Yunakovka area of the Sumy region. This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on June 26.

It is specified that with the help of aerial reconnaissance equipment, a fortified AFU stronghold was discovered in one of the forests, where the enemy gathered units and dispersed them, equipped positions and prepared to conduct defensive actions.

The calculation of the paratrooper gunners inflicted a fire defeat on the enemy infantry with accurate fire from a closed firing position. Objective monitoring footage obtained from the air in real time made it possible to verify the defeat of the target, the ministry added.

As a result of the combat work of the gun crew, the enemy suffered heavy losses and withdrew, which later allowed the airborne assault groups to capture the stronghold and clean it up.

"We work mainly at a range of 15-20 km. The gun is quite accurate: in the right hands, we can hit the target with the first or second shot. Adjustments are mainly carried out from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). <...> When the enemy is being suppressed, the enemy, of course, is in shock <...> the gap is very serious. The enemy is afraid, hiding or running away," said the commander of the firing platoon with the call sign Goodwin.

During combat missions, towed howitzers use high-explosive, high-explosive fragmentation, and high-precision ammunition, which allows maximum damage to enemy armored vehicles and manpower at a considerable distance.

Earlier, on June 23, the Msta-B crew destroyed an AFU stronghold in the Sumy region. It is specified that a camouflaged Ukrainian Armed Forces stronghold, where the covert movement of enemy personnel was observed, was discovered in one of the forest plantations.
