Pre-retirees in Russia have become twice as likely to be called to work


The number of job invitations sent to applicants over the age of 50 increased by 95% in the first five months of 2025, to 5.1 million. This follows from the data hh.ru , who carried out calculations specifically for Izvestia. In total, in the first months of 2025, companies sent about 130 million invitations, of which 4% are in the 50+ category.

In general, hiring people of pre—retirement age is a useful trend. It helps to reduce poverty. This topic became one of the key topics in President Vladimir Putin's speech at the SPIEF. He said that by the end of last year, poverty had dropped to 7.2%. For comparison, in 2000, the figure was 29%.
