Iran's nuclear program has suffered "serious damage" as a result of recent US strikes, and it will take years to restore it. This was announced on Wednesday, June 25, by the director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) John Ratcliffe, citing data from the Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the country.

"This includes new intelligence from a reliable source indicating that several key Iranian nuclear facilities have been destroyed and will have to be rebuilt over many years," he was quoted as saying by the Reuters news agency.

Ratcliffe made the corresponding statement against the background of contrary media reports.

On June 24, CNN reported that the US strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities had not caused significant damage to the main components of Iran's nuclear program and had only suspended work on it for several months, contrary to the statements of the American government.

Later that day, US President Donald Trump accused the American media of discrediting attacks on targets in Iran. According to the US president, Iran's nuclear facilities that have become targets have been "completely destroyed."
