In the Urals, a mother killed her newborn daughter and went on the run

In the Sverdlovsk region, a mother killed a newborn baby and went on the run. A criminal case has been opened into the murder of a minor. This was reported on June 25 in the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

"On the afternoon of June 25, 2025, the body of a girl born in May 2025 with signs of violent death was found in one of the apartments in the Kamyshlovsky district. On this fact, the Kamyshlovsky interdistrict investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Sverdlovsk region opened a criminal case under paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder of a minor)," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.

According to the investigation, the girl's mother threw her on the sofa, as a result of which the girl died from a traumatic brain injury. After the incident, the woman fled the scene of the crime, but was soon arrested.

It is reported that investigators are currently carrying out all necessary measures to establish the causes and circumstances of the incident. The woman will be questioned in the near future.

On June 4, a court in Sochi detained a 24-year-old resident of the city for the duration of the investigation, who is suspected of murdering the seven-year-old daughter of his roommate. According to investigators, on May 27, the suspect, who lived with his girlfriend and her daughter in a rented apartment, hit the child at least 15 times with a belt for disobedience.
