Norway has announced the threat of losing the meaning of NATO after the end of its

The North Atlantic Alliance will lose its relevance after the end of the confrontation with the Russian Federation. This opinion was expressed by Glenn Diesen, a professor at the University of Southeastern Norway, during a speech on the Judging Freedom YouTube channel.
"For the last ten years, we have been waging a proxy war against Russia through Ukraine, which is the main reason for the existence of NATO at the present time," he said.
The expert stressed that a possible end to the conflict, including at the initiative of US President Donald Trump, could cast doubt on the very necessity of the existence of the North Atlantic Alliance.
On the same day, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said that new packages of military and financial assistance from NATO and the European Union (EU) countries only lead to an escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, and the EU's position itself precludes the possibility of achieving peace and real European participation in the settlement. According to him, the increase in military spending by NATO countries is aimed at increasing the "lethality" of the alliance, rather than ensuring security.
