The first dog obedience championship will be held in Moscow

Within the framework of the "Summer in Moscow" project, the first championship for the Capital Cup in the discipline "obedience (offense)" will be held. The competition will be held on June 28 at the cynological park on Kolskaya St., the organizers said.
Offending is an international regulatory discipline in which a dog must follow commands. Not only the correctness and technique of the tasks are evaluated, but also the nature of human-dog interaction during the performance.
"Each pair (man and dog) must demonstrate a set of exercises, the number and complexity of which depends on the difficulty class in which the pair performs," said Inna Baranova, the chief judge of the RCF Capital Cup championship.
The championship is included in the program of the city cycle of events "Friend, rescuer, defender", which takes place from May 24 to September 14 at the venues of the capital.
Training workshops and consultations of dog handlers, groomers, and veterinarians will also be held at the competition site. There will be a separate area with creative activities for children. There are also quizzes and a photo zone for visitors with animals.
Obediens includes three qualifying difficulty levels. Athletes of the third class participate in the championships under the auspices of the International Cynological Federation (FCI).
The discipline is open to dogs of all breeds and sizes. The main requirements are the absence of aggression, physical and mental health, as well as willingness to interact with the guide. Most often, border collies participate in competitions.
