MMA fighter Akhyadov was given a life sentence for the murder of Inspector Madi.

The prosecutor has requested a life sentence for mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Lamberd Akhyadov (listed as a terrorist and extremist by Rosfinmonitoring) for the murder of an inspector of the Moscow Administrative Traffic Inspectorate (MADI) in the center of Moscow in Zaryadye Park. This was reported by TASS on June 25.

"Based on the totality of the crimes, by partially adding up the punishments, I ask you to finally appoint Akhyadov to life imprisonment," Prosecutor Svetlana Tarasova said in the 2nd Western District Military Court.

According to the state prosecutor, Akhyadov poses an "exceptional danger" to society. He was charged under four articles, including Article 205 of the Criminal Code ("Terrorist act") and Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code ("Participation in the activities of a terrorist organization").

On January 2, 2023, Lamberd Akhyadov was arrested by a decision of the Tver Court on suspicion of murdering a MADI employee near Zaryadye Park in Moscow. The detainee inflicted at least 16 wounds on the victim in the area of vital organs, from which he died.

On December 18, 2024, it became known that the investigation into the murder of a MADI employee had been completed. Investigators clarified that Akhyadov had sworn allegiance to the Islamic State organization (the organization is recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in Russia).
