The symptoms that precede a stroke depend on its cause. Stanislav Ionov, Professor of the Department of Therapy at the Medical Faculty of the State University of Education, told about this on Wednesday, June 25. He pointed out the most characteristic signs of a stroke.

According to the doctor, hemorrhagic stroke occurs with hypertension, when blood vessels rupture and hemorrhage occurs in the brain. If a stroke has developed as a result of a hypertensive crisis, then the symptoms preceding it are caused by high blood pressure and vasospasm: headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness.

"The cause of a hemorrhagic stroke may also be a blockage of a cerebral vessel by a blood clot. In this case, the person will not feel anything until the moment it all starts. With thromboembolism, people die peacefully in their sleep. But often thromboembolism is preceded by stress or overexertion, especially if there is a risk factor such as increased blood clotting," Ionov said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

The professor added that hemorrhagic stroke develops within a few minutes, while ischemic stroke can develop up to 24 hours. His symptoms are always blurred — they can be weakness, absent-mindedness, impaired coordination of movements, headache, sometimes slurred speech and visual impairment.

On June 24, at the IV All-Russian Expert Forum "Cardiovascular Diseases and life expectancy", representatives of the Ministry of Health, the expert community and patient organizations discussed how to enhance the effectiveness of the federal project to combat cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and prolong the lives of Russians.

June 23rd Pravda.Ru She wrote that a recent study by the University of Mexico revealed a link between strokes and high levels of microplastics in the blood. Thus, stroke patients turned out to have much more microplastics than healthy people.

Earlier, on June 12, Irina Kochetkova, cardiologist, associate professor of the Department of Medical Prevention at the N.N.Burdenko VSMU of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, said that the development of heart attack and stroke often begins with thrombosis. 360.ru .
