Buying a used car is always a risk, but a competent picker can minimize it, Alexander Kornev, head of the Department for Work with Importers at Gazprombank Autoleasing, told Izvestia on June 29.
"The main thing in carpooling is not just to find a car, but to check it from all sides: technical condition, documents and the adequacy of the price," the expert noted.
According to him, most clients prefer full turnkey support, when the specialist himself looks for options, checks them and conducts the transaction before registration. However, you can limit yourself to individual services, such as checking a specific car or checking its legal purity.
The expert advises you to look for pickers through thematic communities of car enthusiasts, especially if you need a specific brand. It is important to study the reviews, compare the working conditions of different companies and clarify what guarantees they provide.
"A good specialist will not only check the car, but also clearly identify what he is responsible for. For example, some companies offer compensation if hidden problems are discovered after the purchase," he explained.
For those who want to save money, there is an alternative — cars from fleets of leasing companies. They usually have a transparent history and a fixed price, which reduces risks.
"This way you can buy a car without overpaying, with a full check and documents," Kornev summed up.
