Russians were told about spending and recreation of young people

Young people have become more active in traveling: since the beginning of the year, the number of trips by Russians aged 18 to 35 has increased by 11% compared to last year. The main items of expenditure include supermarkets, transportation, cafes and restaurants. This follows from a study by VTB and the travel service <url>, which was reviewed on June 27 by Izvestia.
It is specified that Russians under the age of 35 prefer tourist trips to Moscow (20%), Krasnodar Territory (10%) and St. Petersburg (8%). There is also a growing interest in the Tula, Kostroma and Vologda regions. Among foreign destinations, Belarus (35%) and Uzbekistan (19%) are the most popular, with increased interest in Japan and Vietnam.
According to the study, young people travel more often: zoomers account for 60% of trips within the country and 51% abroad. They prefer holidays in Adygea (73%) and Karachay-Cherkessia (68%). Millennials choose research tourism in Kamchatka (61%) and such foreign destinations as Sri Lanka (73%) and Maldives (70%).
As for spending, users aged 18-35 increased both the amount of spending and the number of purchases. Customers aged 26-35 are especially active, with an average receipt increased by 7%. Supermarkets, cafes, and transportation are popular among young people aged 18-25, while supermarkets, home shopping, and medical services are relevant for the 26-35-year-old group.
On June 17, the Ministry of Education and Science informed Izvestia that since the beginning of 2025, 57 thousand participants have registered in the Studtourism program, and about 15 thousand students have already traveled. According to it, university students, young professionals, workers and scientists from 18 to 35 years old can visit 117 cities of Russia, as well as China, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Uzbekistan. Young people pay for participation themselves, but the cost of housing on the trip is partially borne by partner universities.
