An important result of the NATO summit is that it did not mention the admission of Ukraine. This was announced on June 25 by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto at a meeting in the Netherlands.

"One of the main outcomes of the summit is that his statement did not include the phrase about Ukraine's inevitable path to the alliance, which was present in last year's declaration of the NATO summit in Washington," TASS quoted him as saying.

Earlier, on June 24, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Ukraine should not be admitted to the European Union (EU) and NATO, as such a decision would lead to a conflict between Western states and Russia. According to him, Hungary's security interests do not include becoming part of a common integration structure with Ukraine.
