Moldova will be dragged into a war with Russia if the ruling Action and Solidarity (PAS) party, which supports President Maia Sandu, retains a majority in parliament after the elections. This was stated on June 25 by former Prime Minister of Moldova Ion Chicu in an interview with reporters.

"It is highly likely that we will not live in peace for the next four years. <...> This will be the result of the policy of confrontation pursued by the PAS not only domestically, but also in the international arena, primarily with regard to Russia," TASS quoted him as saying.

According to him, the ruling party is not engaged in governing the country, but in protecting its own interests. According to Kiku, they do not understand that neutrality and responsible foreign policy are the only way to peace.

Earlier that day, two Moldovan intelligence agents were detained in Moscow, who had assignments directed against Russia's security. It was noted that criminal cases have been initiated against Moldovan citizens, they face up to eight years in prison.
