Belousov noted the unprecedented high level of relations between Russia and China

Relations between Russia and China are at an unprecedented high level, and trusting contacts between the leaders of the two countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, play a key role. This was stated on June 24 by Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov at a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Dong Jun in Qingdao.

"The friendly relations between our countries maintain the upward dynamics of development in all areas and are at an unprecedented high level. Trusting contacts between the leaders of the two countries play a key role in strengthening our strategic ties," Belousov stressed.

According to him, Russia is counting on close cooperation with the Chinese side. Belousov expressed hope for strengthening fruitful cooperation and partnership in the defense sector following the talks. In addition, the Russian minister thanked his colleague for the participation of the parade crew of Chinese military personnel in the celebrations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Dong Jun noted that during the meeting with Belousov there will be an exchange of views on a number of issues of interest to Russia and China.

The Russian leader called the relations between Russia and China a model of interstate communication.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on May 8 that Russian-Chinese relations are self-sufficient and independent of the current global situation. Now the interaction between the two countries has reached the highest level in its history, he added.

Chinese President Xi Jinping, in turn, stressed at the talks with the Russian leader that states are obliged to steadily strengthen bilateral strategic cooperation and promote equal multipolarity.
