The amount of fines imposed on the Twitch platform, including for non-removal of illegal content in Russia, amounts to 69.7 million rubles. This was announced on June 25 by the press service of Roskomnadzor.
"Twitch Interactive, Inc. is being held administratively liable for non-removal of prohibited content and non-fulfillment of the duties of the owner of the social network provided for by Russian law. The total amount of fines imposed reached 69.7 million rubles," follows from the message provided by TASS.
It is clarified that the Twitch administration also independently deleted about 1,700 pages with prohibited content.
As emphasized in the department, since November 22, 2021, the owner of the platform is on the list of foreign persons in accordance with the "law on landing".
Earlier, on June 18, a Moscow court fined the American company Apple 3 million rubles for refusing to remove prohibited content. The company was found guilty in accordance with Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the procedure for restricting access to information, information resources, access to which is subject to restriction in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation on information, information technology and information protection, and (or) the procedure for deleting said information").
