In Primorye, a 12-year-old girl drowned while swimming in Razdolnaya

In the Oktyabrsky district of Primorsky Krai, a 12-year-old girl drowned while swimming in the Razdolnaya River. A criminal case has been opened, according to the regional SU of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The tragedy occurred the day before, on June 24, in the village of Konstantinovka. According to preliminary information provided by the prosecutor's office, the schoolgirl was swimming in Razdolnaya with her cousin and friend. At some point, she began to drift away, after which the girl disappeared from sight.

"The children were swimming without adult supervision. Measures are being taken to search for the body," the Investigative Committee notes.

On the fact of the incident, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Causing death by negligence," writes IA PrimaMedia. At the moment, the press services of the rescue department and law enforcement agencies have not reported the discovery of the girl's body.

Earlier in June, it was reported that the rules for children's recreation in reservoirs had been tightened in Primorsky Krai. According to the adopted adjustments, children under the age of 14 are now prohibited from swimming and being on beaches unaccompanied by their parents. In addition, there is a clause prohibiting the leaving of children unattended, regardless of the child's ability to swim.
