Tula carriers want to raise the fare by 25%

Tula city carriers want to ask the regional Ministry of Transport to consider increasing the fare starting in the fall. This was stated by Vera Korotkikh, head of the Tula Transport Union, to TSN24 on Wednesday, June 25.
"The tariff is reviewed annually. Prices are rising for everything that is available: electricity, gasoline, spare parts. Starting from September 1, we plan to file a notice of a 25% increase. It will be about 45 rubles," she said.
The union unites carriers in the regional center, they have been on the market for 30 years. According to Korotkov, even when carriers got the right to raise the fare themselves, they never used this option, and the ticket price increased exactly as much as the unregulated fare increases.
The new tariffs in the Tula region came into force on November 15. They concerned not only the price of a trip in the regional center, but also inter-municipal transportation. At the same time, in April 2024, the authorities clearly stated that they did not plan to raise the tariff.
Currently, the fare on buses, trolleybuses and trams costs 36 rubles when paying in cash, 31 rubles when paying by bank card, and 29 rubles for transport. The latter do not operate on commercial routes.
