Three children were injured in a fire started by one of them in a five-storey building in Bratsk.

In the city of Bratsk, Irkutsk region, a fire broke out in an apartment of a five-story building due to a childish prank. Two girls and a boy were injured, according to the regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.

The fire occurred on Tuesday, June 24, in an apartment on the first floor of a five-story building on Fir Street. Even before rescuers arrived, a passerby evacuated a seven-year-old boy through a window. A member of the gas and smoke protection service also found two girls aged two and eight in the apartment.

The rescued children were handed over to the paramedics. All three have carbon monoxide poisoning.

The investigators of the Ministry of Emergency Situations found out that at the time of the fire the children were at home alone. The fire started when the boy was playing with a lighter. He set fire to the paper, and the flames spread from it to things and a desk, writes IA IrkutskMedia.

The fire area was 3 sq. m. Firefighters eliminated it within a few minutes.

In February, a similar case occurred in the city of Kineshma, Ivanovo region. The first-grader started a fire on the balcony when his father went to the store. Realizing that the apartment was closed, the boy got scared and jumped from the balcony on the fifth floor. He was hospitalized with fractures.
