Rescuers found the body of a 52-year-old climber injured the day before on Mount Elbrus. This was announced on June 25 in the press service of the Main Directorate (GU) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.
"The body of a tourist without signs of life was found on the eastern slope of Mount Elbrus (altitude 4,200 m)," the agency's Telegram channel says.
It is specified that a day earlier, a registered group of four people asked for help, one of its participants fell off the slope and suffered limb injuries. During the search operations, which lasted more than 16 hours, one climber was found, and two more climbed down on their own.
On June 20, it was reported that a climber from the Rostov region died while climbing Mount Elbrus. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kabardino-Balkaria, a 35-year-old man decided to make a solo ascent of the mountain. His body was discovered by another group of climbers.
