The crew of SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft, which included astronauts from India, Poland and Hungary, as well as a veteran of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), set off on their first two-week mission to the International Space Station (ISS). This was reported by the Reuters news agency on June 25.

The team consists of 65-year-old Peggy Whitson, 39-year-old Shubhansha Shukla from India, 41-year-old Slavos Uznanski-Wisniewski from Poland and 33-year-old Tibor Kapu from Hungary. They launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida early on Wednesday, June 25.

According to the agency, for India, Poland and Hungary, this launch marked a return to manned space flight after more than 40 years and the first mission to the ISS.

On March 19, the Crew Dragon Freedom spacecraft successfully landed off the coast of Florida. In addition to astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, Alexander Gorbunov and Nick Hague returned to earth.

Williams and Wilmore arrived on the ISS on June 6, 2024. It was planned that the astronauts would evaluate the capabilities of the Starline capsule and return home in no more than 10 days, however, due to a number of technical problems, they remained on board the space station.
