A pensioner died when a car overturned on the Vilyu highway in the Angara region.

In the Bratsk district of the Irkutsk region, an elderly woman was killed as a result of a car rollover. The regional State Traffic Inspectorate reports this in its Telegram channel.

The accident occurred on Tuesday evening, June 24, on the 190th km of the federal highway A-331 "Vilyu". According to preliminary data, the 64-year-old Nissan Qashqai driver chose an unsafe speed and lost control.

The car flew off the roadway and overturned. According to IA IrkutskMedia, a 62-year-old passenger died on the spot, the driver of the crossover was taken to the hospital with various injuries.

The circumstances of the fatal accident are being established.

In total, 314 road accidents occurred on Russian roads over the past day, in which 27 people were killed and 366 injured. Five of the dead were pedestrians, the remaining 22 were drivers and passengers of vehicles.
