A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. It is noted that the Russian Armed Forces liberated the Yalta settlement of the Donetsk People's Republic, units of the Dnepr group of forces defeated the formations of the mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and two air defense brigades, and units of the Center group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses.

"The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to 510 soldiers, two Cossack armored fighting vehicles, six vehicles, six field artillery guns," the Defense Ministry said.

Seven US-made JDAM guided aerial bombs and 335 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were also shot down by air defense systems.

Since the beginning of the special military operation, 663 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 65,472 unmanned aerial vehicles, 612 anti-aircraft missile systems, 24,038 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,572 multiple rocket launchers, 26,599 field artillery and mortars, 37,271 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
