A bill has been submitted to the State Duma to expand the list of grounds for revoking acquired Russian citizenship. This was announced on June 25 by Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.

"We consider it necessary to expand the list of grounds on which acquired citizenship will be deprived, including: committing violent acts of a sexual nature, public calls for terrorism, cooperation with a foreign state, international or foreign organization against the security of the country," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

In addition, the updated list may include assistance in the execution of decisions of international organizations in which the Russian Federation does not participate, assistance to the enemy against the security of the country, propaganda of Nazi paraphernalia or symbols, public calls for actions against the security of the state, as well as undue influence on the critical information infrastructure of the Russian Federation.

"The adoption of the bill will provide a systematic and holistic mechanism for grounds for termination of citizenship and protection of national security," the chairman of the State Duma summed up.

On June 9, a Ukrainian living in Kamchatka was denied Russian citizenship due to contacts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). During the operational search activities, it was established that the man was in contact with a representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and intended to collect information about Kamchatka military personnel taking part in a special military operation for subsequent transfer to the enemy.
