There have been 314 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.

Over the past day, 314 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 27 people were killed and 366 injured. Five of the dead were pedestrians, the remaining 22 were drivers and passengers of vehicles. This was reported to Izvestia on June 25 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
17 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which one person was killed, and another 21 road users, including one child, required medical attention. Seven bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.
As a result of 68 accidents, 20 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 48 outside their area of operation, 65 pedestrians were injured of varying severity. Among the injured were 18 underage pedestrians, five of whom were injured when crossing the roadway in designated places.
49 accidents involving minors were also registered, as a result of which 54 young road users were injured, including 16 passengers, seven cyclists and 10 motor transport drivers under the age of 16. Three children were killed, one of whom was a motorcyclist, the second was his passenger, and the third was a passenger in a passenger car that was hit by a truck.
So, in the Jewish Autonomous Region, on 1,855 km of the federal highway R-297 Amur (Chita — Khabarovsk) during the daytime, a 49-year-old truck driver with a semi-trailer drove into the oncoming lane while overtaking in a road works area in a prohibited place, where he collided with a crossover.
As a result of the accident, a one-and-a-half-year-old boy was killed, who was in the back seat of a car at the time of the collision without using a child restraint and a seat belt. The driver and two other passengers of the crossover were hospitalized with injuries. Previously, during the maneuver, the truck driver did not make sure that the lane he was entering was clear at a sufficient distance for overtaking.
The State Traffic Inspectorate urged truck drivers to comply with traffic regulations and driving discipline. It is important to correctly assess the inertia of a truck depending on speed and congestion, dimensions, condition and width of the roadway, terrain and risk of skidding, as well as take into account the density of traffic flow, dimensions and speed in its own and oncoming lanes. The safety of the transported cargo and the lives of other road users depend on the discipline of drivers, well-being and driving experience.
Car drivers were reminded that the transportation of child passengers must be carried out in strict accordance with all applicable safety regulations, compliance with which significantly reduces the risk of injury and death in the event of an accident.
In one of the rural settlements of the Chelyabinsk region, a 14-year-old schoolboy from Chelyabinsk and his 15-year-old friend rode a sports motorcycle during the day, but lost control at speed, drove off the road and crashed into a pole of a high-voltage power line. Both the young motorcyclist, who did not have a driver's license due to his age, and his passenger were killed in the accident. Both teenagers rode a motorcycle without motorcycle helmets or any protective equipment.
The State Traffic Inspectorate called on parents to strictly monitor and stop attempts by children and teenagers to get behind the wheel on their own during the long summer holidays, as well as to exclude for them the possibility of accessing the keys of cars, mopeds and motorcycles, prohibiting driving cars and motor vehicles without rights and skills. The lack of control over the behavior and summer leisure of teenagers often leads to injuries or deaths of young road users.
The department drew the attention of parents to the administrative liability in the amount of 30 thousand rubles for transferring the right to drive cars and motor vehicles to children who do not have a driver's license of the appropriate category.
"We also remind parents to teach their children discipline and responsibility for their actions. Adult road users should demonstrate safe behavior on the road by personal example, as well as regularly remind minors of the need for strict compliance with traffic rules," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
