Russia is not a threat to the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO). Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban told reporters about this on June 25 before the NATO summit in The Hague.

"Russia does not have the strength to pose a real threat to NATO because of the alliance's superior power," Devdiscourse quoted Orban as saying.

He noted that the main threat to European countries is the loss of competitiveness. He added that the real threat is not in the security sphere, but in the economy.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on June 23 that NATO had come up with a horror story about an alleged Russian attack in order to extract money from its citizens. According to Putin, it is NATO that provokes militarization and an arms race.
