The Moldovan intelligence agent, who was detained in Moscow, said that he had to carry out allegedly important assignments. This was announced on June 25 by the FSB's Public Relations Center.

"We were told that we needed to fly to Moscow to carry out an important intelligence mission for the Republic of Moldova," one of the agents shared.

It is noted that the investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.

Earlier that day, two Moldovan intelligence agents were detained in the capital, who had assignments directed against Russia's security. Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 275.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Cooperation on a confidential basis with a foreign state, international or foreign organization").
