In the US state of South Carolina, at least 20 people were injured when lightning struck a lake. This was reported by CBS News on Tuesday, June 24.

According to Lexington County Fire Chief Kyle Minick, rescuers found signs of electric shock in eight adults and 12 minors.

At least 12 people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Their lives are not in danger, the TV channel added.

On May 14, in the south of France, 13 people were injured by lightning in a zoo. Emergency assistance was provided to 12 of them, including four children. It is specified that one woman received more serious injuries, she is in critical condition. The animals were not injured.
