The media pointed to Zelensky's assignment of peripheral roles at the NATO summit

At the NATO summit in The Hague, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was given peripheral roles, forcing him to fight for "keeping a divided world" on his side. This was reported by The Sydney Morning Herald (SMH) on June 24.
"Once considered a heroic figure of democratic resistance, <...> [Zelensky] is now entering the world stage, which is now more divided, tired and politically fragile than ever," the publication says.
In addition, the publication, citing a survey, indicates a decrease in the level of trust in Zelensky in a number of Western countries — the United States, Greece and Hungary.
On June 24, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced the unwillingness of world leaders to see Zelensky at the NATO summit. According to him, Hungary's national interest implies not being in any integration community with Ukraine — neither in NATO nor in the European Union.
