Military personnel of the Vostok group of forces evacuated civilians from the Bogatyr village located in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was announced on June 25 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"Despite the danger of artillery and drone strikes from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces of Ukraine. — Ed.), our motorized rifle units took 13 civilians out of the village, including two children," the ministry said.

During the journey, the fighters used smoothbore rifles, carbines and electronic warfare equipment to protect themselves from Ukrainian drones.

"The difficulty of withdrawing civilians was also that the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed bridges in the village, so they had to walk several kilometers, but according to residents, they had no strength to stay there," the statement said.

As a result of the fighting, most of the houses in the village were destroyed. Residents had to hide in basements with their children for several months, only occasionally going outside to get water. They have now been taken to a temporary accommodation facility, where they have received everything they need. They also received medical and psychological assistance.

The liberation of Bogatyr settlement was reported on May 18. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, soldiers of the 29th Guards Combined Arms Army conducted active offensive operations, during which the village was liberated.
