The Iranian ambassador spoke about the violation of the nonproliferation regime

Israel's aggression against Iran has led to a violation of the international nuclear weapons control system, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said in an exclusive article for Izvestia.
"The coalition of unilateralism, represented by Israel and directly supported by the United States, violates the global nonproliferation regime. Such dangerous actions have undermined the credibility of the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency. They are considered a serious threat to global peace and security, and should be taken into account and arouse the caution of the entire international community, especially the "multilateral world," the head of the diplomatic mission noted.
According to the ambassador, on June 13, 2025, the international community "witnessed a large-scale aggressive war," which, violating all the rules and principles of international law, was directed against populated cities, civilian areas, ordinary citizens and civilian infrastructure.
"Some of these heinous attacks were directed against Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities, in particular, the enrichment facilities at Natanz and Fordo, as well as the heavy water production facility in Arak, which are fully under the safeguards and supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency," said Kazem Jalali.
The Iranian Ambassador recalled that Israel, the only possessor of nuclear weapons in the Middle East, has not joined any of the three key international treaties in the field of disarmament — the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological Weapons.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced the entry into force of a full ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran. He also called on the countries not to violate the truce. Iran later confirmed the truce.
