By their actions in Iran, the United States and Israel violated the charters of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the United Nations (UN). This was stated on June 24 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya during his speech.

"The actions of the United States and Israel directly violated the UN Charter, the resolutions of its Security Council, <...> as well as the statute of the IAEA," Nebenzia said.

He stressed that the operations of the United States and Israel pose a threat to the authority of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), which guarantees Iran the right to use atomic energy for peaceful purposes, including conducting uranium enrichment activities.

The diplomat also pointed out that Israel has been avoiding joining the treaty for "decades."

On June 21, US President Donald Trump announced a successful attack on three Iranian nuclear facilities — in Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan. On the same day, he threatened Tehran with new missile strikes if the conflict was not resolved. Later, on June 23, Iran launched 11 missiles at US military bases in the Middle East during Operation Good News of Victory.

In the evening of the same day, the US president announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a complete cease-fire. According to him, an official announcement can be made in 24 hours. After that, Trump expressed the hope that the ceasefire he announced between Tel Aviv and Tehran would become "eternal."
