Russia has proposed to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) an updated draft resolution on a ceasefire in the Middle East. This was announced on June 24 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya.

"Today, we have proposed to our council colleagues an updated version, taking into account the developments, which aims to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire and ensure its observance by the Security Council through the relevant reporting by the Secretary General," he said.

The diplomat stressed that in the current situation, special responsibility lies with the Security Council, which must take appropriate measures to resolve the conflict.

Earlier, on June 22, Nebenzia announced Russia's condemnation of the US actions in Iran. Nebenzia noted that Russia hopes for an impartial and even analysis from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on this situation. According to him, Iran has the right to develop a peaceful nuclear program.
