The House of Representatives of the US Congress voted by a majority vote against the initiative of Democratic Congressman from Texas Al Green to launch the impeachment procedure of American President Donald Trump. This was reported by The Washington Post (WP) on Tuesday, June 24.

344 people voted against (all Republicans and 128 Democrats), 79 voted for.

The resumption of talks about Trump's impeachment has encouraged Republicans, who consider this issue a political loss for Democrats.

"Democrats in the House of Representatives are giving Americans only a small idea of what a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives will bring: distractions, disagreements and the ongoing Trump psychosis syndrome," said Mike Marinella, a representative of the National Republican Congressional Committee.

Earlier that day, WP reported on Congressman Green's attempts to impeach Trump. His resolution stated that Trump had abused his power as president and "became a threat to democracy" by launching an "illegal and unconstitutional war" without congressional authorization, in violation of the Constitution.

On June 21, Trump announced a successful attack on three Iranian nuclear facilities — in Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan. On the same day, he threatened Tehran with new missile strikes if the conflict was not resolved.
