The Israeli Defense Minister announced his intention to observe a cease-fire with Iran.

On June 24, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, during a telephone conversation with Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth, assured him that the country would observe the ceasefire as long as Iran respected it.

"I stressed that Israel will respect the ceasefire regime as long as the other side respects it," Katz wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

In addition, he noted that Israel and the United States have agreed to develop cooperation in the field of security.

How real is the escalation of the conflict

Earlier in the day, US President Donald Trump announced the entry into force of an agreement related to a complete cease-fire between Israel and Iran. Iran later confirmed the truce. Peseshkian assured that the Iranian side would not abandon the cease-fire if Israel did not violate its terms.
