The militants of the 17th separate Tank Brigade of the armed formations of Ukraine (VFU), 35-year—old Igor Raznenko and 36-year-old second Lieutenant Yevhen Goch, were sentenced to 17 and 15 years respectively for invading the Kursk region. The decision on the criminal case was made on June 24 by the 2nd Western District Military Court, the Main Military Prosecutor's Office reported.

The Ukrainians were found guilty under paragraphs "a" and "b" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("The commission by a group of persons by prior agreement of a terrorist act that entailed grave consequences"). In October last year, both defendants, being armed, illegally invaded the Kursk region as part of a unit. There they took up firing positions in a wooded area near the village of Olgovka in the Korenevsky district to monitor the terrain.

"For three weeks, the Goc <...> blocked and held the specified settlement under armed control, prevented the evacuation of civilians and intimidated them by openly carrying and using military weapons, dug trenches, equipped them and established communication. On October 27, Goch's terrorist activities were stopped, he was wounded and surrendered," the prosecutor's office said on its website.

Of the 15 years, he will spend the first four years in prison, and the rest in a high—security penal colony.

According to the Chief Military Prosecutor's Office, for two weeks he blocked Olgovka, prevented the evacuation of civilians, intimidated residents by demonstrating and using military weapons, and also transmitted information about the actions of Russian troops.

"On the morning of November 12, the position occupied by Donetsk was surrounded by Russian military personnel. Once surrounded, he surrendered. The court sentenced him to 17 years in prison, with the first four years served in prison, and the rest in a high—security penal colony," the press service of the department said.

On June 19, the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia announced that 577 defendants in cases of crimes committed by the Kiev regime had been sentenced in the Russian Federation. It was clarified that 63 people were sentenced to life imprisonment. In total, since 2014, the Investigative Committee of Russia has initiated over 7,300 criminal cases of crimes committed by the Kiev regime, as well as against employees holding senior positions, representatives of law enforcement agencies, and members of radical nationalist associations.
