WP reported on Europe's plans to convince Trump to sell weapons to Ukraine

European countries at the NATO summit hope to convince US President Donald Trump to sell American weapons to Ukraine. This was reported by the Washington Post on June 24, citing three European officials.
"European allies believe they can convince Trump to sell American weapons to Kiev if they provide cash or if Ukraine does, including in the form of loans," the publication says.
It is reported that the success of these intentions will depend on Trump, who may reject this proposal due to his unwillingness to spoil relations with Russia against the background of ongoing peace talks.
The Washington Post notes that Ukraine is in dire need of supplies of weapons and ammunition. The publication says that the shortage of anti-aircraft missiles has led to the fact that the Kiev regime's air defense cannot effectively counter the Russian Armed Forces.
"We are witnessing a shortage of air defense systems, tank brigades and missile stocks, so it will be possible to see greater savings in ammunition," the article emphasizes.
On June 6, Reuters reported that Ukraine-related discussions would be minimal at the NATO summit. This is done in order not to anger Trump. Later, military expert Anatoly Matviychuk said that the United States could stop or significantly reduce military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). He stressed that Europe would not be able to compensate for Washington's support.
