The carsharing company announced a reduction in accidents by almost 20%


According to the results of January – May 2025, accidents caused by carsharing users decreased by 19% compared to the same period last year. This was reported to Izvestia on June 25 by Delimobil, which analyzed the travel data.
Accidents have decreased amid an increase in the number and duration of trips, analysts said. At the same time, the trend to reduce the number of accidents involving hitting an obstacle by almost a third year-on-year was already formed in the first quarter of 2025. The largest decrease in the number of accidents caused by users over the past five months occurred in Kazan, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg.
The key drivers of safety growth in the company were the user driving rating system, which is formed by algorithms that take into account more than 150 criteria, and the updating of the regional fleet with cars with modern driving assistants. In 2024, after the introduction of the new rating, the accident rate of users decreased by an average of 5% in all cities, analysts estimate.
On June 23, the Metropolitan Department of Transport announced that in the first five months of 2025, the number of people killed in road accidents in Moscow decreased by 26% compared to the same period last year. A reduction in accidents is observed for several key types of accidents.
On June 16, it became known that the number of people killed in road accidents in Russia has decreased with an increase in the number of accidents. So, from January to May 2025, 44.4 thousand deaths occurred in Russia. Accidents with deaths or injuries, which is 0.7% more than in the same period last year. The number of dead in them amounted to 4.6 thousand people (-1.9%), and the wounded — 55.7 thousand people (+0.5%).
