Iran is ready to observe a truce with Israel if Tel Aviv complies with the ceasefire. This was announced on June 24 by the President of the Islamic Republic, Masoud Peseshkian.

"If the Zionist regime does not violate the ceasefire, Iran will not violate it," he is quoted as saying on the IRNA news agency's Telegram channel.

Peseshkian stressed that Iran is ready for negotiations and will strive to respect the legitimate rights of the Iranian people through diplomatic means.

Earlier in the day, US President Donald Trump announced the entry into force of an agreement related to a complete cease-fire between Israel and Iran. He also called on the countries not to violate the truce. Iran later confirmed the truce.
